Stain Before the Sun Wins
At a mile high, UV exposure is brutal on bare wood. An unstained cedar fence goes grey within a year or two and starts to check, cup, and loosen at the fasteners not long after. A good penetrating stain blocks UV, sheds water, and keeps the wood stable, which is why a stained fence outlasts a bare one by years.
We clean the fence, brighten it to bring the color back, replace any bad pickets or rails, re-hang sagging gates, and then spray the stain and back-brush it so it soaks in evenly instead of sitting on the surface. Semi-transparent for a natural look, solid for full color, and HOA-approved colors where your community requires them.

New Fence Timing
New cedar needs to dry out before it will take stain, usually a few weeks to a couple of months depending on the season. Text us when it's up and we'll tell you when it's ready.
How Often
Semi-transparent stains typically need a refresh every two to three years in our climate; solid stains last longer. South- and west-facing runs fade first.
Stain vs. Paint
Paint sits on top of wood and peels. Penetrating stain soaks in and wears gradually, which is why we stain fences and almost never paint them.
